Our contemporary understanding of the human mind owes a huge debt to many of the
greatest thinkers in the western tradition. In this lecture series we will examine some of
the important contributions to our ideas of mind from Plato to Descartes (Rationalism),
Aristotle to Hume (Empiricism), Brentano to Freud (Psychoanalysis), Heidegger to
Sartre (Existentialism), and Darwin to Hinton (Naturalizing the Mind).
